WHAT YOU WILL DOonX seeks a talented Senior Android Engineer who is passionate about new products for new market opportunities in our ever growing business. This role requires current technology evolution and outside-the-box thinking as we solve problems for new customers in a new space. In this role you’ll work with the General Manager, Product Manager, Customer Success, User Experience and your platform counterparts to understand the new to onX customer problems you get to solve.

(Essential Job Duties)
- Develop new user-facing features in a new Android app
- Write quality code, tests and review pull requests promptly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities using data analysis and user behavior design
- Learn when to optimize for speed vs. quality to increase learnings

onX has created a thriving distributed workforce community across several US locations. This position can be performed from an onX corporate office, “Basecamp,” or “Connection Hub”.
- Corporate Offices: onX was founded in Montana with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. If you prefer to work in an office at least part of the time this is a great option.
- Basecamps: Basecamps are established virtual workforce communities where a sizable number of distributed team members group for work, volunteering, socializing, and adventure.
- Our current Basecamps are located within a 90-mile radius of the following:
Austin, TX;
Charlotte, NC;
Denver, CO;
Kalispell, MT;
Minneapolis, MN;
Portland, OR;
Salt Lake City, UT; and Seattle, WA.

- Connection Hubs: Connection Hub locations are smaller, emerging communities of distributed team members.
- Our current Connection Hubs are located within a 60-mile radius of the following:
Boise, ;
Charleston, SC;
Dallas/Fort Worth, TX;
Phoenix, AZ;
Richmond, VA;
Spokane, WA; and Vermont.
- Our current Connection Hubs are located within a 60-mile radius of the following:
- A minimum of eight (8) years of professional software development experience is required, where Android development was your professional focus for at least two (4) or more years.
- Experience with REST, Graph
QL, and/or gRPC - Experience with Kotlin, Jetpack, and Compose
- Proficiency in git
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Curiosity around user behavior and data analysis to inform and improve experiment ideas
- Excitement for the responsibility of maintaining mission critical software for your customers
- You believe that your profession is a craft, and you’re driven to improve every day
- You are an advocate for the customer and their experience
