Are you an experienced Machine Shop Operative with strong CNC machining skills? We’re working with a growing engineering and manufacturing business in Brackley looking to expand their production team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking company where you’ll play a key role in machining, production, and continuous improvement, supporting both prototype development and full-scale manufacturing.
The Role – Machine Shop Operative, based in BrackleyAs a Machine Shop Operative, you’ll be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of CNC machines, ensuring high-quality components are produced efficiently and safely.
Key responsibilities include:- Setting up and operating 3-axis CNC machines, including offline programming for prototype and production work
- Carrying out routine maintenance in line with scheduled requirements
- Operating manual and digital saws, as well as drilling, tapping, and overhead routing equipment
- Supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and providing feedback for Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives
- Maintaining high-quality standards using a "No Fault Forward" approach
- Recording production data, machine settings, and process adjustments
- Ensuring compliance with health & safety standards and maintaining a clean working environment
- Background in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- Experience using manual machining tools (desirable, training provided)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to support production targets and minimise downtime
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
- Reduction in machine downtime
- Maintaining non-conformance (NCP) levels below 2%
- Achieving On-Time In-Full (OTIF) delivery of 95%+
