We are looking for an experienced Business Manager to join the senior leadership team and play a key role in ensuring the business is well run, well governed, and structured to support continued growth. This role sits at the centre of the organisation, working closely with the CEO and senior stakeholders to oversee business operations, manage commercial and regulatory risk, and provide the foundations needed for effective decision making in a fast-paced, technical environment.
Job DescriptionReporting to the CEO, this business manager position is responsible for leading and overseeing business operations in our company. You will implement strategies to ensure productivity, evaluate how well the business is performing, and work to legally and commercially protect the business.
You will have worked in a similar position and have a degree in business (BA/BSc) or Masters in Business Administration (MBA). We are seeking a highly organised and goal-oriented person with good communication and team working skills to assure that our business has an appropriate structure to support our growth.
About the Role- Assurance of commitments made by the company, including proposals and bid review, contracts for consulting and product sales, supplier list and legal negotiation, and other contractual agreements (Supplier, Partnering, HR). Management of procurement, counter party, and regulatory risks.
- Control and Oversight of internal processes and systems will start with defining the business requirements and guiding the development and establishment of internal systems. Ongoing enforcement of business conduct guidelines, systems review, refinement, and change. ISO

14001, supporting audits, certifications, and continuous improvement. - Operational Concerns include insurance, facilities, cyber and other certifications, preparation of legal and other templates, day to day problem solving, and liaison with suppliers, escalation for (some) customer issues.
- Management reporting to support business decisions and the management team. This involves collating reports from across the business, developing reports from accounting, CRM and other systems to contribute insights.
- Shaping Strategy working with the CEO and Responsiv staff to shape all aspects of our future, including target markets, product strategy, operational effectiveness, marketing, and pricing strategy and implementation.
Responsiv operates in a highly competitive and technical environment to provide consulting and cloud platforms and services as well as selling our own software and resell software from IBM, Red Hat, and others.
Our organisational structure has a management team and departments for Responsiv Cloud, Responsiv Consulting, and Responsiv Assist (support and managed services). This role is a senior role with responsibilities spanning the business.
About YouTo be successful in the role you will be self-motivated and driven to deliver to agreed schedules, be highly organised with good attention to detail and understand the needs of a business of our size. You are not expected to be involved in the technology and delivery side of the business, but you are expected to take an interest.
Proven experience managing legal and commercial matters, including contract review, negotiation support, and the development of company policies and procedures.
- Strong understanding of governance and compliance frameworks, with exposure to ISO
27001, ISO
9001, and ISO
14001, supporting audits, certifications, and continuous improvement. - Experience supporting or leading bid management activities, including tender submissions, proposal coordination, and working with internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality responses.
- Ability to build and maintain effective partner relationships, managing commercial agreements, supplier governance, and strategic alliances.
- Background within a software, IT services, or consulting environment is highly desirable, with an understanding of delivering services into enterprise or public sector customers.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, growing organisation, with the ability to multi-task, remain calm under pressure, and succeed without the support structure of a large corporate.
- Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, ensuring risks are managed and commercial opportunities are maximised.
- Confident communicator, able to work cross-functionally with senior stakeholders across legal, sales, delivery, and technology teams.
