About the role

Are you a natural relationship-builder who loves turning complex data into winning commercial strategies and successful trading outcomes? In the role of ODG Trading Optimisation Manager, you will be responsible for transforming complex data into compelling narratives that inspire key stakeholders to take decisive action. You are converting technical findings into persuasive, actionable plans. Your expertise with numbers is essential, but your true value comes from collaborating with fellow Partners to reveal the insights behind the data, ultimately guiding more effective and profitable business choices.

  • Expected salary - Salary up to £66,000 depending on experience.

  • Contract type - Permanent contract.

  • Working pattern/flexible working - Hybrid: office 3 days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) with occasional adhoc days depending on business needs.

  • Location - Bracknell Head Office.

Key responsibilities
  • Take raw commercial data and package it into clear, persuasive recommendations that influence peers and shape medium‑to‑long‑term trading strategy.

  • Lead the strategic intent and commercial upside of ODG‑exclusive promotion architecture, diving deep into shopper behavior, halo effects, and brand building.

  • Partner with the Value team to determine the commercial logic behind variable pricing, calculating where to flex premiums and where to match competitors to maintain value perception.

  • Use line‑level profit data to identify and remove dilutive ranges, shifting the product mix toward high‑margin “Customer Mindset” products.

  • Own the roadmap for experimentation—designing trials, managing stakeholder expectations, and communicating results to build confidence and buy‑in.

  • Act as the primary interface for strategic pilot CPG suppliers, managing three‑way relationships and transforming their global insights into new tradable moments.

Essential skills/experience you'll need
  • Online trading experience within a retail head office environment.

  • Proven ability to influence across functional boundaries to deliver commercial change at pace.

  • Ability to generate innovative insights from analysis and translate them into actionable plans.

  • Proven experience of complex data modelling/creation of scalable data models.

  • Proven experience delivering outcomes with analytics tools such as Tableau, Google Analytics, or Adobe Analytics.

  • Commercial planning and forecasting experience.

  • Ownership of sales/margin targets—understanding how to influence key online metrics.

Desirable skills/experience you may have
  • Knowledge or experience of On‑Demand Grocery market.
