A welcoming and inclusive school in Bracknell is seeking a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a graduate or experienced Teaching Assistant who is considering a future career in Speech and Language Therapy, Education, Psychology, Special Educational Needs (SEN), or Social Work and wants to gain valuable hands‑on experience supporting children with speech, language, and communication needs.

As a Speech & Language Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with individual pupils and small groups, providing targeted support to help develop their speech, language, communication, and social interaction skills
. You will work alongside teachers, the SEN team, and other professionals to help pupils overcome barriers to learning and build confidence in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Speech & Language Support: Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with speech, language, and communication needs.
  • Implement Strategies: Support speech and language activities and interventions recommended by teachers, SEN staff, or Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Facilitate Learning: Help pupils access the curriculum by adapting activities, modelling language, and using appropriate communication strategies.
  • Develop Communication

    Skills:

    Encourage pupils to develop their vocabulary, listening, understanding, expressive language, and social communication skills.
  • Track Progress: Monitor and record pupils' progress and share observations with the class teacher, SENCO, and relevant professionals.
  • Promote Confidence: Create a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages pupils to communicate, participate, and develop independence.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with teachers, the SEN team, parents, and external professionals to provide consistent support and implement effective strategies.

  • Hours: Full time, 8:30am - 4:00pm
