Job Title: Occupational Therapy Assistant - 86405

Grade: Band 3

Trust: Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust

Hours: 15 hours

Shift Pattern: Shifts between Mon-Fri 9:00-17:00

Work as a member of the Occupational Therapy Team to support the qualified Therapists assessment and treatment interventions offered to the patients across the Community Health. This role requires an individual to work closely under the direction of a qualified Occupational Therapist, with or without direct supervision, to complete activities which are goal focussed and aimed at promoting independence with everyday activities.

The aim being to restore a patients maximum functional ability enabling them to remain in their own home environment.

Main duties of the job

Work within a planned programme of rehabilitation and promotion of independence for patients following assessment of their needs. This may involve group work or one to one sessions.

Carry out simple access visits and complete documentation to record the outcome of the assessment under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.

Contribute to the planning and reviewing of clients needs, monitor progress and ability of individuals.

Be able to facilitate and support patients to acquire skills that may be related to personal hygiene, domestic activities and emotional difficulties

Complete tasks which may involve the use, fitting, cleaning and transporting of equipment.

Person Specification Experience
  • Training and experience in OT work is essential.
Qualifications
  • NVQ qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
Travel
  • Must hold full, current driving licence & have access to a car.
