Senior Product Designer - Content Strategy
Senior Content Designer – Epicor
Epicor’s products manage manufacturing runs, warehouse operations, supply chain logistics, and retail workflows. The people using them are skilled operators, not casual consumers. Every label, message, tooltip, error state, and onboarding prompt either builds trust or erodes it. Content is not decoration; it is interface. As a Senior Content Designer, you own the words that shape how people experience Epicor’s products.
You define voice, terminology, content patterns, and writing standards across product surfaces, including AI‑driven experiences where the system speaks on behalf of the software. You work at the intersection of UX, product strategy, and engineering, ensuring the language layer is as considered as the visual layer.
- Define and maintain content standards across Epicor’s product portfolio, including UI copy, microcopy, in‑app messaging, error states, empty states, onboarding flows, tooltips, and contextual help.
- Own the product voice and terminology framework, ensuring consistency across product lines and between human‑authored and AI‑generated content.
- Design content for AI‑driven experiences such as agent responses, conversational interfaces, system-generated summaries, smart suggestions, and autonomous workflow notifications.
- Partner with Product Designers, Product Managers, and Engineers as an embedded member of product teams, contributing content strategy from problem framing through shipped outcomes.
- Lead content audits and information architecture improvements that reduce cognitive load, eliminate jargon, and make complex enterprise workflows legible to operators.
- Create and maintain content guidelines, pattern libraries, and writing documentation for use across the design and product organization.
- Advocate for plain language and clarity in a domain where technical jargon and legacy terminology are deeply entrenched.
- Contribute to design critiques and reviews with a content lens, elevating the quality of product communication.
- Mentor other designers on content thinking, helping them write better UI copy, structure better flows, and treat the language layer as a design material.
- 5–8 years of experience in content design, UX writing, or content strategy with shipped work in enterprise software, B2B SaaS, or complex workflow‑driven applications.
- A portfolio that demonstrates ability to make complex things clear.
- Strong understanding of how content and interaction design work together.
- Experience defining voice, tone, and terminology standards for a product or product portfolio.
- Ability to write for multiple contexts: UI microcopy, long‑form guidance, error messages, onboarding sequences, and system‑generated content.
- Active AI fluency in your content practice, using AI tools for drafting, variation testing, content audits, and terminology analysis.
- Strong opinions about when AI‑generated copy is good enough versus sound generic or robotic, holding the quality bar for how the product speaks.
- Clear communication and collaboration skills, partnering effectively with designers, PMs, and engineers and articulating word choices’ impact without being precious.
- Experience designing content for AI‑driven products: chatbots, copilots, agent‑generated summaries, autonomous notifications, or conversational interfaces.
- Hands‑on experience with vibe coding or agent‑assisted development and tools like Cursor, Claude, or Copilot to prototype content‑rich interfaces.
- Understanding of AI agents and protocols (e.g., MCP) and how they shape content layer.
- Philosophical perspective on how AI changes content design and what makes a content designer valuable beyond copy generation.
- Pragmatic, fail‑fast mindset with iterative testing and user‑based measurement.
- Experience in enterprise domains such as manufacturing, distribution, supply chain, or logistics, or ability to learn complex operational domains quickly.
- Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
- Internal mobility opportunities with 25% of positions filled internally.
- Free Linked In Learning licenses and a mentoring program for career development.
- Geographically specific education support programs.
- Inclusive, global workplace fostering innovation and partnership.
- Work‑life balance policies encouraging time off and rest.
- Comprehensive support for international relocations and permanent residency processes.
