Job Responsibilities

• Oversee the delivery and management of transport support services within the council.

• Coordinate daily operations and ensure efficient scheduling of transport resources.

• Manage a team of transport staff, including performance management and training.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant transport, safety, and employment regulations.

• Monitor budgets and control operational costs within the transport department.

• Maintain accurate records and reports on transport activities, incidents, and performance.

• Liaise with internal stakeholders, external partners, and service users to ensure high-quality transport services.

• Implement and maintain policies and procedures to ensure service efficiency and safety.

Person Specification
Must Have

• Proven experience in managing transport or support services teams.

• Strong knowledge of transport operations, regulations, and safety standards.

• Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.

• Ability to manage budgets and operational costs effectively.

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

• Eligibility to work in the UK.

• Up-to-date Enhanced DBS clearance (Adults and Children).

Nice to Have

• Previous experience working in a local authority or public sector environment.

• Experience in service improvement and implementing operational efficiencies.

• Familiarity with transport scheduling software or systems.

• Additional transport-related qualifications or professional certifications.
