Staff Accountant - Bradenton, FL

Fire & Safety is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This position will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month-end close processes, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with internal and external accounting standards. This position is focused on providing support to the daily operations of Ten-8.

• Prepare and post journal entries for general ledger accounts.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Reconcile bank accounts and general ledger accounts.
• Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and depreciation entries.
• Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed.
• Prepare and analyze financial reports for management.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting policies.
• Assist in audits by providing documentation and explanations.
• Support budget and forecasting activities.
• Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Provide accounting support for non-accounting departments.
• Make recommendations for process improvement and efficiency.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 3-5 years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles.
• Proficiency with accounting software (SAP, preferred) and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variances in standardized situations.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work both independently and in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• CPA or CPA candidates are a plus.
• Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
• Industry experience is a plus.

• Proven ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective customer relationships.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work quickly and efficiently.
