Collections Specialist

Description We are looking for a Contract Collections Specialist to support a high-volume business-to-business accounts receivable environment in Florida. This role focuses on managing past-due commercial accounts, maintaining strong customer relationships, and helping improve cash flow through consistent follow-up and accurate payment handling. The ideal candidate brings strong B2B collections experience, communicates with diplomacy, and is comfortable working within general ledger-based accounting systems.

Responsibilities:

- Manage a large portfolio of commercial customer accounts and conduct consistent outbound follow-up regarding overdue balances.

- Contact business clients to discuss outstanding invoices, confirm payment status, and encourage timely resolution within established payment terms.

- Record incoming payments accurately and collect payment details from customers while maintaining complete documentation.

- Update account activity, track collection efforts, and keep records current to support reporting and internal visibility.

- Work collaboratively with customers to address billing questions, resolve account concerns, and preserve positive business relationships.

- Monitor aging accounts and prioritize outreach to reduce delinquency across a high-volume receivables workload.

- Use accounting and ledger-based systems to post transactions and support the accuracy of financial records. Requirements - Previous experience in business-to-business collections is required.

- Background in commercial collections is essential; consumer collections experience alone will not meet the needs of this role.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to remain detail-oriented, tactful, and relationship-focused during collection discussions.

- Experience posting transactions to the general ledger or working within GL-based accounting systems.

- Ability to manage a high volume of outbound calls and follow-up activity across a large account portfolio.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail when documenting account status and payment activity.

- Experience with Sage 300, Sage Intacct, or Quick Books is preferred.
