Job Overview

This position contributes to the mission of the Lakewood Ranch Medical Center and the goals of the department by obtaining and/or assisting in the processing of laboratory specimens to facilitate the production of quality results.

General Responsibilities
  • Performs LIS / computer operations and clerical functions as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Phlebotomy certificate program preferred.
  • At least 2 years of active phlebotomy experience required.
  • The applicant must possess current skills in the required areas.
  • Phlebotomy Certificate from an accredited phlebotomy program and a National Certification with one of the following recognized organizations:
    American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT), American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (ASPT), or National Certification Agency for Medical Laboratory Personnel (NCA).
  • Communication and interpersonal skills, basic computer skills and customer service skills required.
