Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents, ages 11-17, who are experiencing behavioral, emotional, educational, family, and social challenges. Our dedicated professionals deliver treatment to children and help establish healthy behaviors to prepare them for transition back home. We are a proud provider of the Patriot Support Program.
ResponsibilitiesThe Lead Mental Health Tech (LMHT) performs direct patient care duties in a residential behavioral health setting. The LMHT is responsible for supervising patients during treatment, recreation, educational settings, and other activities of daily living to assess changes in social behaviors and clinical status. Unit supervisory functions include ensuring the program schedule is followed, assigning unit tasks, and enforcing hospital policies.
LMHTs use the least restrictive interventions per facility policy and actively work to avoid seclusion and restraint whenever possible.

Qualifications- Education: High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent (required). College courses or degree in field preferred.
- Background: Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening and pre‑employment drug test.
- Experience: Experience in a psychiatric hospital setting working with children and/or adolescents. Prior MHT experience required—minimum 1 year.
- Additional Requirements: Ability to read, understand, and follow policies, procedures, and written treatment plans. May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours. Successful completion of CPR certification and additional post‑employment training. Physical agility to manage patients, including push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds. Intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.
