About This Role

Reporting to the COO, this role owns the advanced product quality planning process, ensuring alignment with and compliance to all requirements of the KGS Passport Policy. Responsibilities include governance and training across all KGS Design Centers and Program Managers, improving knowledge and understanding of requirements, and establishing a regular audit rhythm of legacy and active NPD programs to ensure compliance with KGS standards.

The Director of Global Quality will lead manufacturing, supplier and product quality activities and be accountable for product safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of APQP and AME.
  • Directly interface with KGS Product Development to ensure predictive quality measures are developed.
  • Coordinate team activities with the Regional APQP Program Managers to review and audit all elements of Passport from product development through production launch.
  • Enhance and improve the current OVP (Sourced Finished Goods) Passport process to be tailored for the business that drives speed‑to‑market while ensuring compliance with quality requirements.
  • Develop and implement a formal set of NPI performance metrics to review and distribute monthly.
  • Oversee supplier and manufacturing quality systems.
  • Develop Global Quality KPI’s.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor, coach and train Program Managers and RDLs on the requirements of Passport and associated policies to achieve a “Zero Escape” mindset.
  • Develop a Passport standard that supports the needs of all design centers and sub‑business units within the KGS portfolio.
  • Drive all design centers to achieve the highest level of Passport maturity.
  • Share and implement best practices across the global design centers.
  • Gather periodic MFA data from internal customers to drive improvements in the Passport process without sacrificing compliance and process integrity.
  • Establish COPQ reporting, standardize metrics and global processes.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • 10+ years of experience with quality and/or product development and/or manufacturing.
  • 10+ years of management experience leading cross‑department project teams or managing multiple related departments.
  • Progressive career advancement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS/MS Degree in Science or Engineering discipline and/or minimum of 10 years in quality and/or product development with career progression.
  • Experience with APQP management.
  • Six Sigma or Lean/Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as outside organizations as needed.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively that is tasked with supporting multiple programs and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Demonstrates highly effective organizational and time‑management skills with minimal direct supervision.
  • Experience in automotive, aerospace or electronics preferred.
