Job Description – Industrial Parts Manager
Industrial Parts Manager DescriptionSUMMARY: The Industrial Parts Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Industrial Parts sales department, with a strong focus on customer satisfaction, profitability, and team development.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed.
- Lead and manage the industrial parts sales team to achieve department goals and provide world-class customer service.
- Oversee all industrial parts sales processes: customer inquiries, order entry, purchasing, invoicing, and shipping.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment through the PO system.
- Develop strong relationships with vendors and customers to resolve parts challenges.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Service, Sales, Warranty) to streamline parts support across operations.
- Manage daily phone/email traffic, ensuring timely response and follow-up on quotes, returns, and backorders.
- Track and manage departmental KPIs including parts revenue, gross margin, backorder resolution time, and customer satisfaction scores.
- Train and mentor staff to ensure competence and professional development.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Support warranty and recall program efforts in coordination with OEMs and internal departments.
- Actively participate in resolving customer complaints within 24 hours, ensuring retention and satisfaction.
- Conduct sales visits as required to customers sites to initiate and maintain relationships.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Manages all Industrial Parts team members.
- Actively execute HR processes in cooperation with HR Department and the employee handbook
- Ensure all direct reports are efficiently trained in all aspects of the job and facilitate continuous development programs that enhance all areas of responsibility.
- Create an environment geared to employee job satisfaction and continued improvement.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
LANGUAGE WRITING SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to create standard correspondence. Proficient verbal communication skills, in English, are required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Five (5) + years of experience in industrial or truck parts sales; supervisory or management experience strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Strong customer service orientation and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through on all documentation and communication.
- Experience with purchasing systems and CRM software is beneficial.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics, algebra, and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY:Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions in written and oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variances in standardized specifications.
