Position Title: Licensed Practical Nurse
Reports To: Director of Nursing

FLSA Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position SummaryThe Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing care to residents in accordance with established policies, physician orders, and standards of practice. The LPN coordinates and oversees resident care plans, ensures quality care delivery, and promotes a safe, supportive, and healing environment within Manatee Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities- Provide direct resident care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and facility policies.
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and on schedule.
- Monitor and document residents’ conditions, including vital signs, responses to treatment, and any significant changes.
- Supervise and guide Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other support staff to ensure quality care and compliance with standards.
- Participate in admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, completing required documentation and assessments.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members regarding care plans, progress, and concerns.
- Ensure proper infection control and safety procedures are consistently followed.
- Participate in quality assurance, performance improvement, and staff training initiatives.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations.
- Uphold confidentiality and residents’ rights at all times.
- Education:
Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program. - Licensure:
Current, unencumbered Florida Licensed Practical Nursing license. - Experience:
At least 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred, especially in long‑term care or skilled nursing facility settings. - Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership, critical thinking, and communication skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment; compassionate and patient‑centered approach; proficient in electronic health record (EHR) documentation.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist residents as needed.
- Prolonged standing, walking, and repetitive movements required.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies quickly and effectively.
- Long‑term care and rehabilitation facility.
- May be exposed to infectious materials, odors, and varying temperatures.
- Team‑oriented environment focused on high‑quality resident care and safety.
