Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) Opportunity for Full‑time set schedule 7 am‑7 pm (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) with a $2,500 sign‑on bonus.

Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center provides quality mental health care and education services for adolescents ages 11–17 who face behavioral, emotional, educational, family, and social challenges. The dedicated professionals offer mental health treatment for children, establishing healthy behaviors and preparing them to transition back home.

The Registered Nurse delivers professional nursing care on a designated unit, consistent with the philosophy and objectives of the Center. The RN prescribes, coordinates, and delegates nursing care using the nursing process integrated into the multidisciplinary treatment team plan of care. The RN is accountable for assigned nursing care activities on a shift basis and promotes and enhances professional nursing practice on the unit.

The RN is authorized to initiate restraints or seclusion and assess continuation, and may assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Education: Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required;
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing preferred.

Credentials: Licensure by the Florida Board of Registered Nursing required.

Experience: Clinical experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.

Physical Requirements: Physical agility to manage patients with crisis‑prevention interventions; push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds; intermittent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and stooping.

Additional requirements:

• Must be able to read, understand, and follow policies, procedures, and written treatment plans.
• Must pass a Level 2 Background Screening and pre‑employment drug test.
• Must interact positively with patients whose behavior may be challenging, uncooperative, or aggressive.
• Must work successfully under highly stressful conditions.
• Must collaborate with multidisciplinary team members appropriately.
• Must have effective reading, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Current CPR or BLS certification or successful completion during orientation.
• Successful completion of Handle With Care prior within 7 days of orientation.
