Description
The primary purpose of our Veterinary Student Externship is to provide a hands-on learning experience for 3rd and 4th year students enrolled in a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program. The program typically consists of 2-week blocks at our hospital. We seek students with an open mind and a willingness to learn who will benefit most from this externship.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inpatient and outpatient medical care under veterinary staff supervision.
- Conduct in-house diagnostic tests (hematology, chemistry, radiology) competently.
- Perform routine client education.
- Assist in surgical procedures.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise
Participants must currently be enrolled in an AVMA-accredited Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Program.
