The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in sales, customer service, store appearance, and operations. This position manages the store during the Store Manager’s absence or while working opposing shifts, leading the store team members in servicing customers.

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  • Supervise customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team member execution on customer service programs such as Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc.
  • Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak times.
  • Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback, coaching/mentoring, and ensuring current training.
  • Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.
  • Make sure telephone is answered according to company policy.
  • Ensure all buy‑online/ship‑to‑store, hub‑to‑store transfers, and DC add orders are processed in a timely manner and customers are contacted upon shipment arrivals as needed.
  • Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to ensure special orders and outside purchases are handled efficiently and according to procedure.
  • Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly, issue refunds accurately with correct payment methods, and stage returned merchandise correctly.
  • Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, are invoiced before product leaves the store.
  • Communicate Zipline messages and delegate Image Maker and merchandising tasks as assigned.
  • Ensure all team members comply with company policies regarding posted work schedules, approvals for changes/deviations, and clocking in/out.
  • Perform all store opening/closing duties, including day‑end procedures, verifying and securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring night security lights are on, locking doors and securing the building, arming/disarming security alarms, and checking delivery vehicles.
  • Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  • All other duties as assigned.
