Kidde Global Solutions has an exciting opportunity for an Established Software Engineering professional. Conducts tests, debugs control and diagnostic systems, and conducts research. Measures and analyzes software designs, implements procedures to support hardware and software product development, and operates equipment.

• Complete conceptual, architectural, detailed design and test documentation.
• Design to global regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with hardware, software, research, sourcing, manufacturing, marketing, compliance, and quality group members within and outside of project team to design products for customer satisfaction.
• Develop firmware applications using FreeRTOS on STM microcontrollers and Embedded Linux systems.
• Conduct tests and perform debugging of control and diagnostic systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions.
• Conduct disciplinary research and collaborate with equipment designers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems and commercial software.
• Measure and analyze software designs for equipment/products to ensure current and future needs of the business are met.
• Build and implement procedures that are used to support hardware and software product development and functions.
• Operate equipment and computer systems for testing and software design purposes to facilitate operations and ensure that established objectives are achieved.

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 2+ years of experience with real‑time embedded firmware systems.
• 2+ years of debugging experience.

• Strong understanding and experience with FreeRTOS or similar real‑time operating systems.
• Proficient in developing embedded software for microcontrollers and microprocessors (e.g., ARM).
• Extensive experience with various peripheral interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, USB, Ethernet, etc.).
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret hardware schematics.
• Experience with debugging tools (JTAG, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers).
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Experience with agile development methodologies.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail, and superior follow‑up and follow‑through skills.
• Strong debugging and analytical skills.
