Erie, PA; or Ridgway, PA - Salary Range: $51,062 - $68,192, commensurate with education and experience
- Employment Type: Full-time
Essential Job Functions
- Financial Reporting Oversight Directs the preparation of periodic financial reports and ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Accounting Policies & Controls Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements internal controls to minimize risk in accounting transactions.
- Financial Analysis & Statements Analyzes financial data related to assets, liabilities, and capital; prepares balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other reports to summarize current and projected financial positions. These reports: a. Are distributed to management staff and department directors. b. Include financial reports prepared under the direction of the CFO or CEO for presentation to the board of directors and external stakeholders such as banks and regulatory agencies.
c. Provide both summary and detailed insights, highlighting past, present, and forecasted business activity in areas of income, expenses, and earnings. - Budgeting & Forecasting Produces the annual budget and forecasts; monitors and reports significant variances to management. Assists in planning and developing the annual Capital Budget.
- Strategic Financial Analysis Provides financial analysis with emphasis on capital investments, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations.
- Cost Accounting Systems Develops and implements cost accounting systems relevant to the delivery of agency services.
- Fixed Asset Management Oversees the maintenance of the agency's fixed asset inventory, including additions, dispositions, and depreciation schedules, ensuring accurate integration into the general ledger.
- Audit Coordination Collaborates with external auditors and provides necessary documentation for the annual audit.
- Regulatory Compliance Ensures adherence to local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of prior experience or training required.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in the nonprofit sector,
or - Master's degree in accounting or a related field with at least three (3) years of experience,
or - CPA certification.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector,
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required.
- Minimum of ten (10) years of prior experience or training required.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in the nonprofit sector,
or - Master's degree in accounting or a related field with at least five (5) years of experience,
or - CPA certification.
- Experience in the nonprofit sector,
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field required.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) years of prior experience or training required.
- Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in the nonprofit sector,
or - Master's degree in accounting or a related field with at least seven (7) years of experience,
or - CPA certification
- Experience in the nonprofit sector,
