Cash Allocations Clerk

We’re recruiting for a Cash Allocations Clerk based in Bradford to join a finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role would suit someone who enjoys working with figures, investigating discrepancies and ensuring payments are recorded accurately.

You’ll be responsible for managing incoming cash transactions and ensuring payments are allocated to the correct customer accounts. Working closely with colleagues across finance and other departments, you’ll help maintain accurate account balances and support the smooth running of the cash allocation process.

• Allocating incoming customer payments to the correct accounts and invoices.
• Matching bank receipts against outstanding customer balances.
• Monitoring and resolving unallocated and unidentified cash.
• Investigating payment discrepancies and taking appropriate action to resolve them.
• Reconciling customer accounts and ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
• Reviewing remittance advice and payment information to identify transactions.
• Liaising with customers and internal teams to clarify payment queries.
• Maintaining accurate records of cash allocations and outstanding items.
• Supporting account reconciliation activities and finance reporting.
• Meeting deadlines and ensuring transactions are processed efficiently.

• Previous experience in cash allocations, accounts receivable or a similar finance role would be beneficial.
• Strong numerical skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Confident investigating discrepancies and resolving payment queries.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workloads.
  
  Comfortable working with spreadsheets, accounting systems and financial data.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
• A methodical, proactive and accurate approach to work.

• Salary of £27,000 per annum.
• 12-month fixed-term contract.
