White Label Recuitment are currently recruiting for an established engineering business is looking to appoint a Document Controller to support the delivery of complex, contract-led projects involving technical and engineered products.
This is a documentation-focused role, where accurate, structured documentation
-particularly Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, is a key contractual deliverable and often sits on the critical path to project completion and invoicing.
Key Responsibilities
Document Control (Primary Focus)
Creation, control, and issue of contract documentation against SDRL / VDR
Uploading, managing, and issuing documents via customer electronic portals such as:
Viewpoint, PIMs, EIDA, CEMAR, Share PointManaging revisions and maintaining fully auditable contract folders
Issuing approved drawings and documentation to internal teams and ensuring removal of superseded versions
O&M Manuals & Documentation Packs
Compiling complete Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals, including:
Front covers, document registers, and indices
Drawings, schematics, and layouts
Equipment data sheets and certification
Test sheets and electrical documentation (where applicable)
OEM manuals for equipment and ancillary items
Warranty and handover documentation
Merging, formatting, and editing documentation using Adobe Acrobat / PDF tools
Cross-checking documentation against contract requirements and technical information
Project & Customer Support
Supporting customer documentation reviews and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs)
Resolving documentation queries following client comments or inspections
Issuing final documentation packs via secure electronic portals or file transfer methods
Administrative Support
Maintaining document trackers and contract records
Limited administrative support where required to assist contract delivery
The Person
You are highly organised, detail-driven, and comfortable working with technical documentation in structured project environments.
Essential experience:
Document control experience within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment
Hands-on experience compiling O&M manuals
Familiarity with document management systems such as
Viewpoint, PIMs, EIDA, CEMAR, Share PointStrong document control discipline and attention to detail
Confident using Adobe Acrobat / PDF editing software
Desirable background:
Experience with in construction, oil & gas, HVAC, building services, or similar technical industries
Exposure to engineered or technical products
Good working knowledge of Excel
