Payroll Officer
Bradford
£14.60 an hour
Core Responsibilities- Data Processing: Accurately process salaries, allowances, increments, pay awards, and expenses.
- System Management: Use complex payroll systems—predominantly SAP—to input data, execute gross-to-net calculations, and generate reports.
- Compliance & Auditing: Ensure all payments adhere to HMRC legislation, audit controls, and internal conditions of service.
- Pension Admin: Liaise with schemes such as the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
- Query Resolution: Advise managers and employees on payslips, conditions of service, and process over payments or underpayments.
- Experience: Previous experience in a payroll, finance, or highly administrative role.
- Technical: Strong numerical skills, high attention to detail, and familiarity with payroll software and Microsoft Office (particularly Excel).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for providing high-quality customer‑facing support.
