Senior Project Manager – Northern Region

This role will initially work on a project in West Yorkshire designed to improve pedestrian and cyclist connectivity across a busy transport corridor. The scheme aims to address safety concerns caused by limited footways and inadequate crossing points by delivering a new, purpose‑built bridge that prioritises active travel, accessibility and inclusive design.
Key Responsibilities- Manage site staff, operatives and sub‑contractors.
- Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans.
- Understand tender allowances and monitor contract loss against agreed budgets.
- Prepare and monitor programmes of work.
- Foster good relations and reputation with clients.
- Manage design coordination.
- Assess and engage sub‑contractors.
- Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion.
- Supervise, mentor and assist in the career development of junior staff.
Required qualifications and skills:
- HNC/HND or BEng in Civil Engineering.
- CSCS Card and SMSTS certification.
- Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and construction methodologies.
Desirable qualifications and experience include:
- TWC, First Aid at Work, SEATS or EUSR certifications.
- Experience in highways and bridge construction and design coordination.
- Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects, including supervising or managing highways schemes valued at £5M+.
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and project planning software (Asta Power project or MS Project).
