Senior Project Manager – Northern Region

This role will initially work on a project in West Yorkshire designed to improve pedestrian and cyclist connectivity across a busy transport corridor. The scheme aims to address safety concerns caused by limited footways and inadequate crossing points by delivering a new, purpose‑built bridge that prioritises active travel, accessibility and inclusive design.

• Manage site staff, operatives and sub‑contractors.
• Provide method statements, hazard risk assessments and project management plans.
• Understand tender allowances and monitor contract loss against agreed budgets.
• Prepare and monitor programmes of work.
• Foster good relations and reputation with clients.
• Manage design coordination.
• Assess and engage sub‑contractors.
• Manage contracts to ensure timely and profitable completion.
• Supervise, mentor and assist in the career development of junior staff.

Required qualifications and skills:

• HNC/HND or BEng in Civil Engineering.
• CSCS Card and SMSTS certification.
• Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts and construction methodologies.

Desirable qualifications and experience include:

• TWC, First Aid at Work, SEATS or EUSR certifications.
• Experience in highways and bridge construction and design coordination.
• Proven experience delivering civil engineering projects, including supervising or managing highways schemes valued at £5M+.
• Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office and project planning software (Asta Power project or MS Project).
