About
Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for providing hospital services for the people of Bradford and communities across Yorkshire. We serve a core population of around 500,000 people and provide specialist services for some 1.1 million. Our 5,500 staff work over several sites, including Bradford Royal Infirmary — which provides the majority of inpatient services, St Lukes Hospital — which predominantly provides outpatient and rehabilitation services.
We also manage community hospitals Eccleshilla, Westwood Park, Westbourne Green, Shipley and others.

Part‑time – 8 sessions per week - Salary: £105,504 – £139,882 pro rata per annum

- Manage strabismus and/or paediatric ophthalmology cases and may develop roles in general paediatric ophthalmology or emergency eye care services.
- Provide a range of ophthalmology services, including emergency eye care.
- Teach and supervise medical and allied health practitioners, including clinical fellows and ACPs.
- Attend ophthalmology clinical governance and business meetings.
- Commit to the Trust’s clinical governance and risk strategy.
- Perform any other duties necessary for the successful performance of the role.
Essential Experience
- Completion of approved training/sub‑specialty clinical experience in Strabismus and/or Paediatric Ophthalmology.

- Understanding of the NHS Constitution and the responsibilities it entails.
- Computer skills.
Essential Qualifications
- MBChB or equivalent.
- MRCP or FRCS of equivalent to specialty (UK) or equivalent.
- Member of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK) or equivalent.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020, and a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service is required.
