The Role
We are seeking a compassionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with class teachers and the SENCO to support pupils with a range of special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they can access the curriculum and thrive in a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs (e.g., autism, ADHD, speech and language, learning difficulties).
* Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and support strategies under the guidance of the SENCO and class teacher.
* Encourage and promote independence, confidence, and emotional well-being in pupils.
* Support the teacher in managing behaviour and maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere.
* Assist with preparing learning materials and resources tailored to pupils’ needs.
* Work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent and effective support.
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* Passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
* Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a nurturing approach.
* Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
* Ideally experienced in working with children with SEN
