SEMH Behaviour Specialist - Canterbury Are you passionate about supporting children and young people who need additional emotional and behavioural support? Do you enjoy working in environments where building relationships, providing consistency and understanding individual needs are central to success? A specialist school in Canterbury is seeking a Behaviour Specialist to join their team, supporting pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs .

Pupils benefit from a structured, nurturing and trauma-informed approach that helps them engage positively with learning and everyday school life. This role would suit individuals with experience or an interest in SEMH, behaviour support, youth work, mental health, psychology, education, or care , as well as graduates or career-changers looking to gain valuable hands-on experience within specialist or alternative education settings.

Key Responsibilites: SEMH Behaviour Specialist Support pupils on a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them regulate emotions and engage positively with learning Implement behaviour support plans and promote positive behaviour strategies Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff to provide consistent support Help pupils develop emotional resilience, self-regulation and social skills Create a calm, safe and structured environment for learning

What we're looking for:

Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, trauma or challenging behaviour Backgrounds in Psychology, Criminology, Youth Work, Mental Health, Social Care or similar are highly desirable Calm, resilient and confident in managing behaviour Passionate about making a genuine difference in pupils' lives  £85 - £95 per day, Mon-Fri, 08:30 to 15:30, PAYE, Term time only  You MUST have right to work in the UK in order to apply - no Visa sponsorship  On site parking included Apply now or contact Ollie Mynard at Academics Ltd:
