About The Opportunity
John Paul College (JPC) Primary School is seeking a dedicated and skilled Kindergarten Teacher to join our vibrant team in 2026. This permanent part-time position, working 4 days per week (Tuesday to Friday), offers an exciting opportunity to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and families in a supportive and dynamic environment where every child is empowered to develop confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning.

As a Kindergarten Teacher, you’ll play a vital role in fostering positive relationships, supporting early literacy and numeracy skills, and providing developmentally appropriate experiences that lay strong foundations for lifelong learning.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, play‑based learning experiences that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Create a safe, inclusive classroom environment that welcomes all learners, including those with diverse learning needs.
- Support the implementation of the Australian Curriculum and Early Years Learning Framework principles and work collaboratively with classroom teams and support staff to differentiate teaching practices and meet individual student needs.
- Monitor and assess student progress through observation, play‑based assessment, and formative evaluation.
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child’s learning, development, and achievement.
- Collaborate with specialists and support staff to identify students requiring additional support or intervention.
- Implement reasonable adjustments and support strategies for students with verified disabilities or learning needs.
- Maintain positive relationships with families and actively engage them as partners in their child’s learning.
- Contribute to a positive school culture that is reflective of our values and inclusive practices.
- Appropriate qualifications in early childhood education or primary teaching and current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
- At least 3 years of teaching experience in early childhood or kindergarten settings and a proven track record in creating engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences.
- Deep knowledge of early childhood development, play‑based pedagogy, and contemporary best practices in early learning.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and strong organisational abilities.
- Committed to ongoing professional learning and evidence‑based practice.
