The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will support pupils with SEMH needs within mainstream, SEND and integrated resource provisions. Roles range from day-to-day cover to long-term placements, depending on your availability and preference. You will play a key role in creating a stable, nurturing environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with SEMH needs, including behaviour regulation and emotional support
Support teachers with lesson delivery and adapt activities to meet individual needs
Implement positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement and consistency
Monitor and record pupil progress, feeding back to teachers and relevant professionals
Work collaboratively with school staff to ensure continuity of support
Follow all safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain pupil safety and wellbeing
What We're Looking For
Previous experience working with children with SEMH needs
Confidence managing behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
A calm, patient and empathetic approach
Ability to adapt across day-to-day, short-term and long-term cover
