Beckfoot Thornton is seeking a committed and caring Behaviour Support Worker to join the team from Febuary 2026 on a long-term or short-term supply basis, with the potential to become permanent.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Behaviour Support Worker who has experience supporting the wellbeing, behaviour, and learning of pupils-particularly vulnerable learners-within a welcoming and inclusive school community.

• Support pupils' wellbeing, behaviour, and attitude to learning

• Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in collaboration with colleagues and external professionals

• Build positive relationships with families and encourage engagement with school life

• Promote inclusion, independence, and positive values in pupils

• Track and monitor behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding concerns.

• Make welfare calls and support strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.

• Assist with lesson planning, pastoral care, and behaviour management.

• Organise and support extracurricular and enrichment activities.

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to the wider school environment.

• Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education

• Experience working with children with SEMH and/or SEN

• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection

• Excellent communication skills and a supportive, proactive approach

• A team player with resilience, empathy, and a passion for helping young people thrive
