OverviewBradford. This is a term-time contract (44 weeks) plus 2 weeks/230 days. Salary: £23,080 to £25,500 for 230 days. The role includes a Private Medical plan.
We are a dedicated alternative education provider for young people who have disengaged from mainstream education. We specialise in a variety of vocational qualifications including Business & Enterprise. We are looking to appoint an experienced and passionate Business Professional to our dedicated and growing team.
Key Responsibilities- Teaching pupils NCFE VCert Technical Award in Business and Enterprise Level 1-2
- Working through the course specification and delivery guide ensuring that pupils complete the course
- Working closely with the Internal Quality Assurance Manager & Curriculum Coordinator who will support you throughout the delivery of the course, ensuring that you complete all the relevant administrative elements for Internal and External Quality Assurance (IQA, EQA) reviews such as the evidence of tracking of learners and evidence of the learners work fully marked
- Preparing lesson plans, year plans and schemes of work for the delivery of the course, and ensuring that these are on track for learners to progress
- Ensuring that learners are fully prepared to begin their non-examination project and external assessment, externally set by NCFE, following the regulations specific to each
- Engaging and motivating pupils using various innovative assessment methods
You will receive support from the Internal Quality Assurance Manager who oversees the NCFE qualifications, including regular meetings, training and guidance from other team members who deliver NCFE courses with similar grading criteria and course specification. You will receive training on all NCFE and JCQ regulations that must be adhered to in order to teach the course.
Safeguarding and the wellbeing of our pupils is a priority. The successful candidate must actively safeguard all pupils at all times to keep them safe from harm. The candidate will also supervise pupils during breaks and lunch, ensure safeguarding during these times, and report concerns to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) on site. There will be other duties included.
Essential Skills & Experience- GCSE C or above in Maths and English or demonstrable maths ability
- A recognised business qualification at a minimum level 3 or equivalent, or demonstrable experience in the field of business and enterprise
- A natural ability to engage and motivate young people with multiple and complex needs
- Knowledge of the barriers to learning that affect disengaged and disaffected young people
- Working knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices in an education setting
- Knowledge of risks faced by disengaged young people (including CSE and CCE)
- Knowledge of risks of online safety for young people
- Ability to pass a DBS, barring, and prohibition check
- Proven track record of working with young people, preferably in an education or alternative education setting
- A recognised assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA online, A1 Assessor Award, L3 Assessor Award or CAVA)
- MAPA or Team Teach training
- Autism Awareness training
- Experience delivering a business qualification
- Evidence of running a business
- Working knowledge of NCFE qualifications, regulations and grading
- Knowledge of JCQ examination regulations
