Beacon 1 (Learning Support Assistant)
Bradford, West Yorkshire (two-site college - you may be asked to work on either site).
£20,496.50 to £20,822.80 per annum (actual), dependent on experience.
Permanent
Hours: 08.30 to 16.00, Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week.
Contract: term time only plus 2 days.
Start date: as soon as possible.

- Support identified students, including those with SEND and EAL, individually and in groups to help them engage with learning and make progress.
- Work alongside colleagues in the school inclusion provision to support the inclusion of all students.
- Deliver learning activities and interventions, and monitor progress.
- Help create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive learning environment, promoting independence, self-esteem, and high expectations.
- Lead a house tutor group and support students during house welcome time and house development time.
- Provide one day per week of administrative and clerical support for the inclusion team (for example inputting radiate data, timetabling support staff for access arrangements, and alternative curriculum clerical support).
- Support exam access arrangements, alternative curriculum administration, and invigilation or routine testing where needed.
- Contribute to pastoral and wider college life, including supervising students out of lessons and supporting internal exclusions when required.
- A positive, resilient, student-centred approach, with the ability to build rapport and support a wide range of needs.
- Strong organisation and attention to detail, with confidence handling day-to-day admin alongside student-facing work.
- A team-focused mindset and the ability to communicate clearly with staff, students, and (when needed) parents.
- Qualified to NQF Level 2 (or equivalent experience), plus GCSE English and Maths (minimum Grade
C), and confident using IT. - Willingness to undertake training for a first aid qualification.
- Sympathetic to and supportive of the college’s Catholic ethos and values, and able to act as a positive role model.
