SEMH Intervention Support Assistant

Responsibilities
  • Provide targeted support and intervention for students with SEMH needs
  • Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups within the school's on-site provision
  • Support the delivery of intervention programmes focused on behaviour, emotional regulation, and engagement in learning
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students to encourage progress and confidence
  • Work closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and the SENCO to support individual student plans
  • Help create a safe, supportive, and structured learning environment
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with young people with SEMH needs or behavioural challenges is highly desirable
  • Experience with in education, youth work, mentoring, or support roles would be advantageous
  • A calm, patient, and resilient approach when supporting challenging behaviours
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people to overcome barriers to learning
