Position: Year 5 Teacher September)

About the role:

Justteachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Teacher to support one of our partner primary schools from September 2026
, teaching a Year 5 class on a full-time basis. This role is to cover a maternity leave for the full academic year
, running from September 2026 to July 2027
.

The school welcomes applications from experienced teachers and ECTs
, offering strong support and mentoring throughout the placement.
PPA time will be provided
, however,
full class teaching responsibilities will be required
.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take full responsibility for the teaching and learning of a Year 5 class.
  • Plan and deliver engaging, structured lessons in line with the KS2 curriculum.
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress to support attainment and development.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all pupils, including those requiring additional support or challenge.
  • Maintain a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
  • Work collaboratively with KS2 colleagues, support staff, and senior leaders.
  • Attend staff meetings, CPD sessions, and contribute to wider school life.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress and welfare.
Pre-requisites:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
  • Experience teaching in KS2, ideally within Year 5 (preferred but not essential).
  • Strong knowledge of the KS2 curriculum and assessment expectations.
  • Confidence in managing a full class and fulfilling teaching responsibilities.
  • Clear communication skills and a positive, professional approach.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
