Cover Supervisor​/Teaching Assistant

About the role:

Justteachers are working with a thriving secondary school in Bradford who are seeking a flexible and proactive individual to take on a dual role as a Cover Supervisor and Teaching Assistant to start immediately, this role has the potential to go permanent for the right applicant . This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain varied experience in a secondary setting, supporting both whole-class delivery and individual student progress.

In this mixed role, you’ll be stepping in to cover lessons during teacher absence and providing targeted support to students in and out of the classroom. You’ll work closely with teaching staff to maintain a positive learning environment and help students stay engaged and on track.

• Supervise whole classes during short-term teacher absence, ensuring students remain on task
• Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and manage classroom behaviour effectively
• Provide small group or 1:1 support to students who need additional help
• Assist with differentiated learning and classroom activities
• Support students with SEND or those at risk of disengagement
• Liaise with teaching staff to monitor progress and provide feedback
• Promote a safe, inclusive and respectful learning environment

• Experience working in a secondary school setting is desirable
• Confidence in managing classroom behaviour and engaging students
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow lesson plans and adapt to different subjects
• A Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or
  3) or Cover Supervisor experience is beneficial
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
• A flexible, resilient and proactive approach to school life
