Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are actively seeking an inspiring and motivated Early Years professional to manage a vibrant Pre‑School room on behalf of an excellent nursery setting in Bradford.
This role is dedicated to shaping a high-quality educational environment that prepares older children for their next big step into primary school. You will lead by example, mentoring your team of practitioners, driving the curriculum, and ensuring every child feels safe, welcomed, and stimulated.
Core Responsibilities- Educational Leadership: Take charge of the room's ethos and daily operations. Lead the planning process in strict accordance with the EYFS Statutory Framework, ensuring high-quality learning experiences for all children.
- School Readiness & Transitions: Play a pivotal role in preparing children for school. This includes coordinating with primary school teachers, organising teacher visits to the nursery, and sharing up-to-date developmental trackers to ensure a smooth transition.
- Team Mentorship: Supervise, support, and empower room practitioners. Drive professional development by facilitating supervisions, peer observations, and continuous performance management.
- Excellence in Care: Champion the Key Person approach. Oversee and guide staff in care routines, observations, assessments, and parent feedback. Ensure an inclusive environment that caters to diverse cultural backgrounds and individual SEND requirements.
- Parent & Agency Partnerships: Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals to support each child's holistic development.
- Compliance & Operational Support: Maintain rigorous standards for Safeguarding, Child Protection (including the Prevent Duty), and Health & Safety. Assist the Nursery Management Team with daily operations, such as opening/closing procedures, maintaining staff‑to‑child ratios, and managing resources.
- Extensive experience within an Early Years environment, particularly working with pre‑school‑aged children.
- A proven track record of leadership, with the ability to confidently mentor staff and oversee students on placement.
- Exceptional knowledge of the EYFS, Development Matters, and current safeguarding legislation.
- A proactive approach to continuous reflective practice and professional development.
- Excellent communication skills and the flexibility to engage in out‑of‑hours activities such as parent evenings, staff meetings, and nursery events.
