About the RoleThis is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated and passionate English Teacher to secure a full-time permanent position starting in September. Operating in a third-person capacity, the successful educator will take full ownership of planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential opportunities for Key Stage 5 depending on experience). The role demands an individual who can craft a love for reading and analytical writing, making complex texts accessible and exciting for a diverse student body.
As a core subject teacher, the individual will play a pivotal role in boosting academic attainment and preparing students thoroughly for their GCSE examinations.

- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent, recognised UK teaching qualification.
- A current Enhanced Child DBS registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to apply for one).
- Deep and up-to-date knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for English at Key Stages 3 and 4.

Superior time-management skills to balance lesson planning, marking, and administrative tasks. - Adaptability:
The flexibility to pivot teaching styles depending on classroom dynamics and immediate student feedback.
- Lesson Delivery:
Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons that align with the National Curriculum guidelines. - Exam Preparation:
Prepare Key Stage 4 students effectively for their upcoming GCSE English Language and Literature examinations. - Progress Tracking:
Consistently assess, mark, and record student work, providing constructive feedback to guide their academic development. - Differentiated Learning:
Adapt teaching materials to support both high-achieving students and those requiring additional educational support (SEND). - Classroom Management:
Implement the school's behaviour policy consistently to maintain a focused, safe, and positive learning atmosphere. - Form Tutor Duties:
Act as a Form Tutor, providing pastoral care and guidance to a designated cohort of students. - Department
Collaboration:
Attend departmental meetings to share best practices, design schemes of work, and moderate student assessments. - Parental Engagement:
Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, including attending parent's evenings. - Data Analysis:
Analyse student performance data to identify learning gaps and implement effective intervention strategies. - Extracurricular Support:
Contribute to the wider school community by assisting with literacy initiatives, book clubs, or school events.
