KS1 Teacher

About the role:

justteachers are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join a supportive and welcoming primary school from September 2026 for the full academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity with the potential for a permanent contract directly with the school
.

You will be responsible for teaching a Year 1 class, delivering engaging lessons in line with the UK National Curriculum
. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of Key Stage 1 expectations and experience delivering effective phonics teaching using Read Write Inc.

• Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality lessons based on the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum
• Use Read Write Inc. phonics to support pupils’ reading and writing development
• Track and assess pupil progress, providing regular feedback to pupils, parents, and senior leaders
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with other staff and parents to support pupil outcomes
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and promote the school’s values

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent and relevant experience teaching in Year 1 or Key Stage 1
• Confident delivery of the Read Write Inc. phonics programme
• Strong knowledge of the UK Primary National Curriculum
• Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
• A reflective, organised and committed approach to teaching
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one through justteachers)
• Legal right to work in the UK
