Are you a passionate and dedicated SEMH Maths Tutor looking to make a meaningful impact on young people with additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs? We are working in partnership with a highly supportive alternative provision in Bradford, supporting secondary-aged learners who thrive in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment designed to help them re-engage with education.

The provision is committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and relationship-focused setting where every student is valued. As an SEMH Maths Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping learners develop essential numeracy skills, build confidence, and make both academic and personal progress.

As an SEMH Maths Tutor, you will:

  • Deliver Maths teaching to small groups or on a 1:1 basis, covering Functional Skills, GCSE content, and numeracy intervention.
  • Plan and adapt lessons to meet individual learning plans and emotional needs.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships using a restorative and trauma-informed approach.
  • Work collaboratively with behaviour mentors, pastoral teams, and senior leaders to ensure consistent, holistic support.
  • Promote positive behaviour, resilience, and engagement through creative and flexible teaching strategies.

What We're Looking For:

  • QTS or FE qualification, or substantial tutoring/teaching experience in Maths.
  • Experience with SEMH learners, alternative provisions, PRUs, or challenging behaviour in mainstream settings.
  • Calm, empathetic, resilient approach to behaviour management.
  • Passion for inclusive education and supporting young people to progress.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to meet diverse needs and deliver personalised learning.

To be eligible, you must:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the update service OR be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide two professional references related to child-facing roles.

Why work with us?

  • Competitive daily rate based on experience and responsibilities.
  • Supportive team environment with ongoing CPD opportunities.
  • Long-term, stable role with scope to shape your career within a forward-thinking provision.

If you are an enthusiastic SEMH Maths Tutor ready to make a difference in Bradford this September, please apply with your up-to-date CV. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
