You will plan and deliver lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs, while promoting positive behaviour and a love of reading, writing, and literature.

A key aspect of this role is creating an inclusive classroom where barriers to learning are identified and addressed through effective teaching strategies, differentiation, and strong relationships with pupils. You will also support pupils' social and emotional development, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess, monitor, and record pupils’ progress, using data to inform planning and next steps
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that supports all learners
  • Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies, promoting high expectations
  • Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, and varying abilities
  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to support learning and pupil progress
  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupils’ progress and well‑being
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school, including meetings, events, and extracurricular activities where appropriate
  • Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all pupils

  • Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievement
  • A proactive and flexible approach to working across different school settings
