Bradford College has an opportunity for a passionate Early Years Lecturer to join our Early Years, Education and Social Care department.
The successful candidate will help to transform the lives of our learners by planning, teaching and assessing on Early Years qualifications.
Please note that this is a Part‑Time role working 28 hours per week.
Responsibilities- To teach courses specified by the Departmental Leadership Team.
- To participate actively in curriculum development, and where appropriate, in cross‑college marketing activities.
- To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
- To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
- To be responsible to the Head of Department for student discipline, counselling and guidance for all assigned classes.
- To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and off‑site visits, and activities where appropriate.
- To maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students’ learning, carried out to report accurately on the progress of both individuals and groups.
- To proactively contribute to the success and vision of the department.
- To undertake programme leadership duties as specified by your line manager or the Head of Department.
- To contribute to course development and keep up to date with any industry or education reforms. To contribute to the development of new programmes of study demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivery.
- To act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.
- To implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures.
- To participate in relevant Course Committee activities and ensure that the student voice informs curriculum design.
- To participate in recruitment and marketing activities as specified by your line manager or Head of Department.
- To participate actively in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers and training agencies.

Education & Training- Minimum of a Level 3 qualification or equivalent in Early Years or a related subject.
- A relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale.
- GCSE 4 – 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale.
- Academic or industrial, or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programme.
- Ability to utilise Information Technology and Information, Learning and Technology both within learning and for administrative purposes.
- Experience in Good teaching/training.
- Experience in student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures.
- Experience in course leadership responsibilities.
