PE Teacher Full-Time and Part-Time Supply Cover
Location: Beckfoot School, Beckfoot Oakbank School, Beckfoot Thornton, Beckfoot Upper Heaton
Contract: Part-time and full-time opportunities available
We are seeking dedicated and passionate PE Teachers to join our secondary schools within the Beckfoot Trust. Beckfoot School, Beckfoot Oakbank School, Beckfoot Thornton, and Beckfoot Upper Heaton are vibrant and inclusive schools committed to creating an environment where every pupil can thrive.
As a PE Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning in Physical Education, fostering a positive and engaging environment, and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential. You will play a key role in planning and delivering lessons that meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs, while promoting positive behaviour, healthy lifestyles, and a love of sport.
A key aspect of this role is creating an inclusive environment where barriers to learning are identified and addressed through effective teaching strategies, differentiation, and strong relationships with pupils. You will also support pupils social, emotional, and physical development, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and motivated to succeed.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated PE lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Assess, monitor, and record pupils progress, using data to inform planning and next steps
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment that supports all learners
- Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies, promoting high expectations
- Adapt teaching to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND, EAL, and varying abilities
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and other staff to support learning and pupil progress
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupils progress and well‑being
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including sports events, clubs, and extracurricular activities
- Uphold safeguarding responsibilities and promote the welfare of all pupils
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Experience teaching PE in a secondary school setting (including ECTs are welcome to apply)
- Strong knowledge of the PE curriculum, including games, fitness, health, and outdoor education
- Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skillsA commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil achievement
- Proactive and flexible approach to working across different school settings
- Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
