Join Park Aspire AP Academy and Help Young People Rebuild, Grow, and Succeed

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Learning and Behaviour Assistant at Park Aspire Alternative Provision Academy.

At Park Aspire AP Academy, we believe every young person deserves the chance to thrive — to feel valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. As a high‑quality Alternative Provision, we work with pupils who have been permanently excluded or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream education, helping them rebuild confidence and develop a positive future.

Many of our pupils have found mainstream education challenging, but with our structured, nurturing environment — built on clear expectations, consistent rewards, and unwavering support — they begin to rediscover self‑belief and a renewed attitude towards learning. Our small class sizes allow us to understand each pupil’s unique needs and create strong, trusting relationships that help them flourish.

The successful candidate will need to understand the complex emotional, social and behavioural needs of KS1, KS2 and KS3 pupils, and will be required to cope with highly complex problems, particularly in child protection and challenging behaviours. Some of our pupils are involved in high risk‑taking activities and may lead chaotic lifestyles or suffer from neglect, forms of abuse, be witness to domestic violence and experience family upheaval.

Pupils need to be treated sympathetically and with sensitivity in light of their difficulties they face and be helped to overcome those barriers to succeed.

Our team is made up of dedicated, highly skilled professionals with expertise in supporting pupils with SEND as well as social, emotional, mental health, and behavioural needs. We work closely with Educational Psychologists, CAMHS, Children’s Services, Early Help and other partners, ensuring that every young person receives the tailored, holistic support they need.

We know that children make the best progress when home and school work together, and we are committed to open, positive communication with families.

If you are passionate about making a difference and want to work in an environment where you can truly change lives, we encourage you to apply. At Park Aspire AP Academy, your work has purpose, your impact is visible, and your professional growth is supported.

Together, we are proud to live by our ethos: “Individually we Aspire, Together we Exceed.”

The successful candidate will:

  • Provide effective behaviour management to pupils within the school
  • Act as a role model, establishing productive and constructive working relationships with pupils
  • Use specialist learning skills/training/experience to support pupils
  • Have an understanding of child development and learning
  • Have the ability to relate well to pupils and adults
  • Have experience in supporting pupils with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Have a minimum of 3 years experience working within a similar role

We can offer:

  • Children who are enthusiastic to learn
  • Supportive Trust central team, school leadership, governors, staff and parents
  • Fantastic outdoor facilities
  • Opportunities for further development and training
  • A healthy work‑life balance
  • Free access to an Employee Assistance Programme
  • Free, on‑site parking
  • Excellent employer pension contribution scheme

We would warmly encourage any interested candidates to visit our school setting prior to applying. In order to do so, please contact the Office Manager, Sarah Batty, on to make the necessary arrangements.
