Position: Teaching Assistant (Behaviour Support

About the role

Justteachers are recruiting for a dedicated Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in Bradford from September 2026
. This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and resilient individual who is passionate about supporting children to overcome behavioural challenges and achieve their full potential.

You will work closely with teachers, SEND staff and pastoral teams to provide targeted support for pupils who require additional behavioural guidance, helping to create a positive and structured learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs
  • Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies
  • Support pupils in managing emotions and resolving conflicts effectively
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to adapt learning activities where needed
  • Promote a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment
  • Assist in developing and reviewing behaviour support plans
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff
  • Support pupils during transitions, break times and unstructured periods
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers
Pre-requisites
  • Experience working with children (in a school, childcare, youth work or similar setting)
  • Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies
  • Calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
