Are you a qualified Level 3 Learning Support Assistant with a passion for supporting children and young people with Autism and complex needs?
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a highly respected specialist Autism provision in Bradford for a Level 3 Specialist Learning Support Assistant to support pupils aged 3–19 years with Autism, Communication & Interaction needs, and complex learning difficulties.

The RoleAs a Level 3 Specialist Learning Support Assistant, you will support pupils across a range of ages and developmental stages throughout the school.
Many pupils require support with communication, emotional regulation, sensory needs, routines and accessing learning through play-based, developmental and highly personalised approaches, often reflecting EYFS principles regardless of chronological age.
Working closely alongside teachers, therapists and specialist staff, you will help create engaging learning experiences that enable every child to thrive.
Key Responsibilities- Support children and young people with Autism and complex needs
- Build positive, trusting and nurturing relationships with pupils
- Support learners with communication differences, including non-verbal communication
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual developmental needs
- Support emotional regulation, sensory processing and social interaction
Encourage independence, confidence and essential life skills - Use calm, consistent and proactive approaches to support behaviours linked to communication and sensory needs
- Provide personal care where required
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and specialist SEND professionals
- Help maintain a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment
Level 3 Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or equivalent Level 3 childcare/education qualification (essential)
Experience supporting children or young people with Autism and/or additional needs
Experience with in SEND, specialist education, care, residential, healthcare or support settings
A calm, patient and nurturing approach
Understanding of communication differences and sensory needs
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Emotional resilience and the ability to adapt to individual pupil needs
A genuine passion for supporting children and young people with complex needs
