We have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and engaging Lecturer in Beauty Therapy to join our Professional and Creative Department.
As a member of the Beauty Team, you will provide a quality, inspirational, learning experience to Beauty Therapy students that replicates industry standards. You will be a supportive member of the Beauty Therapy team and embrace future initiatives that will enhance our students' journey. You will be passionate about providing learning opportunities for all to support students to develop skills and knowledge within the Beauty industry.
Please note that this is a Part Time role working 7 hours per week and is Fixed Term for a period of 7 months.
Interviews for this role will take place w/c 7th September.
Responsibilities include:- To teach courses specified by the Departmental Leadership Team.
- To participate actively in curriculum development; and where appropriate in cross-college marketing activities.
- To participate actively in the enrolment, induction, monitoring, profiling and initial assessment of students or trainees.
- To devise individual learning plans and provide support for learners in line with the requirements of the course.
- To be responsible to the Head of Department for student discipline, counselling and guidance for all assigned classes.
- To be responsible for the supervision and management of students on placements and offsite visits and activities where appropriate.
- To maintain records of formative and summative assessments of students' learning carried out to report accurately on the progress of both individuals and groups.
- To pro-actively contribute to the success and vision of the department
- To undertake programme leadership duties as specified by your line manager or the Head of Department
- To contribute to course development and keep up to date with any industry or education reforms.
- To contribute to the development of new programmes of study demonstrating an inclusive and collaborative approach to delivery
- To act as academic and pastoral tutor to assigned students.
- To implement and promote College regulations, policies and procedures.
- To participate in relevant Course Committee activities and ensure that the student voice informs curriculum design.
- To participate in recruitment and marketing activities as specified by your line manager or Head of Department
- To participate actively in the maintenance and promotion of close links with employers and training agencies.
- To participate in College Open Days; career events and promotional events both on and off College premises.
- To provide appropriate information to parents/carers and employers through College reporting systems and open evenings/weekends.
- To assist the Head of Department/Head of School with costings and control of materials and equipment when specified.
- To participate in the development of workshops, laboratories and facilities, where appropriate.
- To undertake additional duties that may be required commensurate with the level of responsibility of the post.

Education & Training- Level 4 Certificate in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) Treatments
- Level 3 or equivalent in Beauty Therapy
- A relevant teaching qualification or willingness to work towards this qualification.
- GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in Maths, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale
- GCSE 4 - 9 or equivalent level 2 qualification in English, or be prepared to pass a test before the interview to demonstrate level 2 ability, and then, if appointed, achieve within an agreed timescale
- Academic or industrial or commercial experience in an area relevant to the programme.
- Ability to utilise Information Technology and Information, Learning and Technology both within learning and for administrative purposes.
- Experience in Good teaching/training.
- Experience of student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures
- Experience of course leadership responsibilities.
