Social Work Lecturer

The Role

You will be delivering teaching across a Social Work degree programme, supporting students with their academic development, professional practice and preparation for qualification.

The role will include:

• Delivering engaging lectures, seminars and workshops across the Social Work degree
• Teaching students across Levels 4, 5 and 6
• Planning and delivering high-quality Social Work teaching
• Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback
• Supporting students with their academic and professional development
• Contributing to the development and delivery of course content
• Supporting practice learning and placement activity where required
• Ensuring teaching reflects current Social Work legislation, policy, safeguarding and professional standards

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in Social Work
• Current registration with Social Work England (SWE)
• Previous experience teaching a Social Work degree at Higher Education level
• Experience teaching undergraduate Social Work students
• Experience teaching across Level 4, Level 5 and Level 6
• Strong knowledge of current Social Work practice, legislation and professional standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to engage and support students from a range of backgrounds

Experience as a Social Work Lecturer, Senior Lecturer, Associate Lecturer, Programme Lead, Module Lead or HE Social Work Tutor would be highly relevant.

Important:
Applicants must have experience teaching Social Work at degree level. Applications from candidates whose experience is solely within Health & Social Care, Social Care or general FE teaching will not meet the requirements of this position.
