We have an exciting opportunity for a number of Senior Modellers to join the expanding Strategy & Regulation team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers.

8. As a Senior Urban Drainage Modeller, you’ll lead the development of high‑quality models that drive hydraulic and water quality assessments, shaping long‑term wastewater strategies. You’ll play a key role in delivering major regulatory outputs including the Storm Overflow Discharge Reduction Plan, WINEP, and DWMP while guiding technical innovation and collaborating with top‑tier partners. We’re looking for specialists in urban drainage, river hydraulics, or water quality modelling and are ready to support your continued development.
- Lead the technical development and maintenance of Yorkshire Water’s urban drainage/hydraulic models and associated procedures to capture industry best practice.
- Provide effective technical support to contract partners, acting as Yorkshire Water's “Expert Client.”
- Ensure all models are developed and maintained on required timescales to meet statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Lead on providing technical expertise and support to internal and external stakeholders on modelling, sewer network risks and opportunities.
- Provide expert technical coaching to other team members and colleagues.
- A degree in a relevant discipline with wide knowledge and experience in urban drainage modelling.
- Competent in specialist modelling software, e.g., Info Works ICM.
- Ability to train and coach others on technical modelling and software.
- Good and confident decision‑making skills for modelling queries, technical issues, and verification of outputs.
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex modelling processes to non‑technical stakeholders, internally and externally.
- Knowledge of wastewater asset types and understanding of how sewerage systems function.
- Positive attitude to problem‑solving and a self‑motivated, enthusiastic team player with excellent organisational skills.
- Competitive salary £49,600 – £62,000 (depending on experience)

Employment TypePermanent, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
