Position: Mechanical Design Engineer (Contract)
Contract Mechanical Design Engineer – Pressure Vessels & Industrial Equipment | Bradford | Approximately £50 per hour

Are you an immediately available Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in pressure systems and high-integrity industrial equipment?

We are recruiting for a contract role for an experienced design engineer to support a specialist engineering team trusted with complex pressure vessels, autoclaves and related mechanical systems.

Mechanical design and development of pressure vessels, autoclaves and associated plant equipment

Producing detailed CAD models, fabrication drawings, BOMs and specifications

Ensuring designs meet relevant codes & standards (e.g., PD5500, ASME VIII, EN standards)

Liaising with suppliers, fabricators and internal stakeholders to resolve technical queries

Supporting design reviews, risk assessments and compliance documentation

Applying mechanical engineering principles to structurally sound, manufacturable solutions

Contract Mechanical Design Engineer - Requirements - Mechanical Engineering, Pressure Vessels, Autoclaves, Industrial Equipment, ASME

Proven mechanical design experience within pressure vessel or similar industrial equipment engineering

Strong background with autoclave design, high-pressure systems or related plant

Competent in 3D CAD (preferably Solid Works / Inventor / similar)

Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, tolerances, materials and fabrication processes

Ability to produce clear, compliant technical drawings and documentation

Immediate availability and ready to start on contract
