R&D Refrigeration Test Engineer

Join Epta as an R&D Lab Engineer and play a key role in developing our commercial refrigerated display cabinets, contributing directly to our growth strategy. You’ll work within the R&D labs team, developing innovative solutions that shape the future of cooling technology. This exciting permanent role is located at our Bradford office and may involve occasional travel. This role is onsite 5 days a week. The hours are 37.5 hours a week, between 07:30 and 15:45, Monday-Friday. Salary £40,000 to £45,000 DOE

• Act as a senior person to develop refrigerated display cabinets to match the agreed specification.
• Respond to technical queries from customers (internal and external)
• Carry out additional testing as needed to support the business.
• Maintain and improve labs test equipment.
• Support the Lab manager in day-to-day operation of the test labs.

In working with us, you would be using data logger systems to monitor cabinets, modify cabinets to meet customer specifications. You would work closely with colleagues throughout the business to provide the best possible solution for our customers. You would be expected to travel occasionally, including to customer sites, trade shows & other Epta group locations, both in the UK and abroad.

You would be expected to be able to work to technical standards to provide consistent, reliable results.

You should have experience in a technical testing role, with a strong engineering and problem-solving mindset, a proactive approach, adaptability, and excellent analytical skills. You will need the flexibility to work as part of a small team or independently, and to collaborate with other areas of the business when required. You will need to be able to adapt to changing priorities, often at short notice, and be able to communicate effectively at all levels internally within the business, and with external customers.

• HNC or equivalent in refrigeration, electrical or mechanical Engineering.
• Strong IT competency including MS Office.
• A practical mindset, as this role is approximately 1/3 desk based, 2/3 practical.
• Ability to use a range of measurement instruments.
• UK Driving license.

• Practical electrical competence.
• Refrigeration competence.
• Experience with data-logging instruments and software.
• Basic Knowledge of MRP systems (ideally SAP).
• Language skills.
